Research

Just as a steadfast commitment to equity and justice serves as the foundation of my teaching philosophy, so to do these principles serve as the bedrock of my research agenda. I have been a leading voice in my two academic fields (music education and choral conducting) on equity for persons of LGBTQA/queer experience. I was one of the first scholars in music education to foreground the voices and experience of trans and gender-expansive students (TGX) persons.
